ACUPUNCTURE

Acupuncture is a method of therapy in which thin needles are inserted into specific points. There are numerous points, and for each treatment, specific ones are being manipulated according to their functions in the body and the Chinese medicine diagnosis. Acupuncture is a treatment modality that existed within the wider traditional Chinese medicine and can be traced to the first written document on the subject, the huang di nei jing or the yellow emperor’s inner classic,

The diagnosis, as well as the terminology used in Chinese medicine, differs from Western/conventional terminology. According to the Chinese medicine 12 organs regulate the physiologic and psycologic aspects of the body. Each ‘Chinese organ’ regulates a combination of functions – both physical and psychological. These organs are connected by ‘meridians’, which are precisely located channels of energy. According to Chinese medicine, illness results from an imbalance of energy flow. The rationale for acupuncture is that physical intervention at particular points along the meridians can restore the proper energy flow and thus restore health.

The aetiologic factors internal pathogens that consist of wind, dampness, heat, cold and combination's thereof. According to the Chinese diagnostic system and each group would be treated differently. There are a number of related conditions for which acupuncture may be effective as an adjunct therapy, an acceptable alternative, or as part of a comprehensive treatment program, but for which there is less convincing scientific data.

These conditions include but are not limited to addiction, stroke rehabilitation, headache, menstrual cramps, tennis elbow, fibromyalgia (general muscle pain), low back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, and asthma.

Aroma Therapy.
Aromatherapy is an effective way of treating various conditions.  We can renew and heal our skin.  It can heal dry skin, boils, acne; it can deodorize and refresh as well as restore and smooth wrinkles.  It is a good idea to follow safety measures to avoid mishaps.

Plant oils are used in aromatherapy to provide physical and psychological benefits to the person who is using them.  The actual practice of aromatherapy has been around for a number of years.   It actually dates back almost 1,000 years.  These plants are used for burning as incense in order to establish both balance and harmony in a person’s life.  However, oils are used for medicinal, spiritual and even cosmetic purposes.  These aromatherapy treatments provided therapeutic benefits.  These include healing physical disorders, relaxing, relieving anxiety and stress, soothing a tired mind and body and as an aphrodisiac.  Essential oils are taken from a plant's flowers, leaves, stalks, bark, rind, or roots.  The oils are mixed with another substance (such as oil, alcohol, or lotion) and then put on the skin, sprayed in the air, or inhaled.

The oils are thought to interact with the body's hormones and enzymes to cause changes in blood pressure, pulse, and other body functions. Another theory suggests that the fragrance of certain oils may stimulate the body to produce pain-fighting substances.

Aromatherapy may promote relaxation and help relieve stress.  It has also been used to help treat a wide range of physical and mental conditions, including burns, infections, depression, insomnia, and high blood pressure. But so far there is limited scientific evidence to support claims that aromatherapy effectively prevents or cures

illness.  It is important to talk with your medical doctor to see whether aromatherapy may be helpful and safe for your specific health condition.

Do not swallow the oils used in aromatherapy. Many of the oils are potent and can be dangerous if taken internally (swallowed).    Aromatherapy and Essential Oils:  Used as Alternative Healing and Mood Enhancers.
